Transferable Skills, Project management, and Human Resource Management
It is our ambition that our PhD students not only obtain first-rate scientific skills but that they also acquire additional competences, ranging from transferable skills (e.g. scientific writing, presentation skills, proposal writing) to project or human resources management. An emerging and rapidly expanding field as relativistic geodesy and gravimetry with quantum sensors can only blossom through intense science marketing combined with effective outreach measures. Students are incorporated in this and thus acquire communication skills early in their careers. With this interdisciplinary training we aim to provide our PhD students with a set of skills qualifying them for a career not only in academia, but also in industry, consulting and other non-academic branches. It is mandatory for all PhD students to take at least two transferable skills seminars.
You will find a list of workshops and seminars that the geo-Q RTG organised, as well as those offered by our University and other institutes and groups, that we recommended our students to take part in. --> For the list
